Frogs and Rosbifs

E-mail Print PDF

Hi everyone,

My name is IZNOGOOD and I’m the father of the Frog & rosbif’s family.  I’m the frog, I mean I am French and I am married to a rosbif, sorry for my lovely wife, SHEKNOWSITALL who is British.

frog

We’ve got two children, a 10 years old son called ITSNOTFAIR and a 3 years old daughter called I’MSMALL. They are both bilingual even if the little one must still acquire some more vocabulary.

Learning another language and discovering a different culture is a very interesting experience. This is why we would like to share our experiences with you.  Coming from different countries, we have sometimes have very different perspectives and expectations, which spices up our life.

As you know, it is often a love hate relationship between the French and the British; our common history is there to prove it.  We will show you in a friendly way what a frogs & rosbifs family is all about.  Even if you hate them (the French or/and the British) you should at least learn their language so you know when they making fun of you!  As you see there is always a good reason to learn another language.

Our goal is to make you understand what makes us different. You may even end up being a fan of French music or a British food lover!

Finally, you are very welcome to join our family and share your own experience with us. Just find a good name and register, we will then let you write and publish articles on this website.

We have just started so please accept our apologies for the lack of information in some of the sections. Please come back later to see how our family is doing.

It’s now time for me to let the rest of my tribe to introduce themselves. I forgot to mention that most articles will be either written in French or English, British English that is.

 Wink Enjoy the website,

IZNOGOOD

He really is no good!

SHEKNOWSITALL here, well there were a few mistakes in that –he really is no good! We have lived in France for two years and my French is rubbish although I have my excuses, I work at home and in English for a British company, so I don’t get much practice, except when shopping.

My children put me to shame as they have picked it up so quickly, I keep asking IZNOGOOD to help me, to learn basic French but he’s too lazy to do that and gets fed up if I don’t understand straight away.

So he had the bright idea of this website for me to learn French, it will help me he says! He says when he has given me a lesson he will put it on here, I just laughed, heard it all before from the Frenchman.

I will let you know if I find anything useful which might help your young children. The thing I like best are cartoons, I watch them in both languages, it really helps me learn quickly, also Mummy and Papa both talk to me in their own languages so I get lots of practice.

Can Joomla! 1.5 operate with PHP Safe Mode On?

Yes it can! This is a significant security improvement. The safe mode limits PHP to be able to perfom actions only on files/folders who's owner is the same as PHP is currently using (this is usually 'apache'). As files normally are created either by the...
